Brief history
Drawn animation started in France with the work of Émile Reynaud, with its first projection of a "Pantonyme lumineuse" in Musée Grévin at Paris, the October 28 1892 (date of International animation festival day). He worked on most today known technics: drawn anilation, papercut, stop motion. He created it's own film band, before more industrial technics was created. He meet at least one time with Georges Mélies and Antoine Lumière ton Eiffel Tower (I seen this photography by little daughter of Reynaud in an AFCA animation conference-projection). Lumière brothers developed industrial cinema film. The melies seen the firsts projections with train coming to the showroom in middle of 1890s years, and wanted immediatly to try to do films. Mélies was the first to develop cinema fx, and developed most, in a studio of cinema, the first physical cinema studio ever created, in Paris suburb, at Montreuil, au 74, avenue du Président Wilson. He started to sell copy of its film in international market, but in USA, some companies made illegal copies of its film. Then, he decided to create a company in USA to protect them and send his brothers, Gaston Méliès, there. But Edison breveted 35mm films here, and forbidd Mélies to sold copy of its France made films there. He created the Star film company, made some films, and due to not very good succes, gone to Asia. Its films has then been bought by Leon Schlesinger, later producer of Bugs Bunny.
Since 1802, he create stereo (now sometime called 3d) films.
Technics then come to USA with the migration of Émile Courtet (know as Émil Cohl). Then was developed their by Flescher brothers. They added celluloid technic for more efficiency. Japanese come son, with inspiration by US work.
The first animated drawing feature film has been made in Argentina, and First stop moition feature film has been made in Soviet Union, so we can already conside that in the begining of the 20th century, animation has already started worldwide.

- Animatsiya.net, found with Зеркало времени (A mirror of Time), on Youtube, in my point of view could had been a source of inspiration for Q*Bert (near end scene) and Ulysse 31 (begining)
This picture of "A Mirror of Time" ("Зеркало времени", 1976) animation by Vladimir Tarasov looks a lot like "Q.bert" video game (Warren Davis and Jeff Lee for Atari and Gottlieb, 1982)
